WHITETAIL DEER & BLACK BEAR HUNTS - CHITEK, SASKATCHEWAN
We offer Black Bear hunts, Whitetail Deer hunts.
Whitetail Deer Hunts are approximately 5 1/2 days ending on Saturday at 12:00 noon; price is $4500.00 US. The price includes licence and GST. We require a $1500.00 deposit on deer hunts.
Your stay will be at our brand new lodge built on our farm. The hunt starts at approximately 6:00 am with a good breakfast and a packed lunch for your stay in a stand or ground blind until approximately 5:30 pm followed by a hot meal. Your trip into the tree stand or ground blind will be a 1/2 hour to 1 hour four wheeler trip.
Our tree stands are usually 12 – 16 ft high. Ground blinds might be 75 – 150 yds away from baits, depending on the weapon used (rifle/bow).
Items required: Raven wear (or equivalent) cold weather hunting uniform (white) blaze orange or red hat or head sock (toque). Heavy boots along with boot blankets for warmth. Foot blanket for stand keep down noise and stays warmer. 20 foot pulls rope, pee bottle, biggest gun you can shoot.
Bear hunts are $3000.00 US including licences and taxes, 5 day hunts. We require a $1000.00 deposit on bear hunts, which is refundable if the spot is filled prior to the hunt.
Black bears come in different color phases (blond, cinnamon, chocolate brown) average size across Canada 250 lbs, have shot much bigger (400 lb).
Hunt over baits usually in tree stands 16 ft high or ground blinds 75-100 yds away. Red, or white uniforms along with red or blaze orange hats worn with rifle hunts. Camouflage worn with archery or black powder rifle. (Slug shot gun considered rifle).
Bear like to hunt mid May to avoid bugs and the bear hides are not rubbed also have fall hunts which are on farm fringe land bears are usually larger.
All hunts are done Friday night to help hunters get to the airport on time.
Prices include lodging, guide fees and all transportation while hunting. Tips for guides and camp help are at the hunter's discretion.
Please note that if you shoot at and wound an animal efforts will be made to recover the animal but the hunt is considered to be over.
Choice of dates in the order of the deposits received. The best way to keep a particular date for future years is to put a deposit down for those future hunts as early as possible.
